Coming from a karting background, Matt performed his duties as an ARKS instructor for many years. Finally taking the decision to enter full sized motorsport at Castle Combe in the Hot Hatch challenge.

The car began as his road car, as they most often do, developing itself into a race car under the scrutiny of James Johnson of "P J Motor Services Racing". The engine was built by renowned Honda tuner Richard Voaden of Performance Autoworks. Matt embarked on a 5 race series with TrackNutz and P J Motor Services.

So, in his first dip into tin top racing, Matt secured 5 class wins from 5 starts, setting a new class lap record whilst doing so. A perfect first season.
